Machine for binding elongate objects together by at least one wire, in particular for lashing reinforcing bars, electric cables or the like. The machine includes two claws which can be guided down over the objects to be bound together. Feed rollers are arranged for feeding the wire along a guide surface of one claw and across to a guide surface of the other claw, so that it is shaped into a wire loop surrounding the objects on three sides, the legs of which loop can be twisted together on the fourth side of the objects. The twisting-together device includes an arrangement, which is rotatable relative to the claws, and which guide the wire when it is fed to and from the claws. The twisting-together arrangement allows the wire length necessary for twisting-together of the legs of the wire loop to be drawn out while a resistance is overcome.

Two guide pins 11 and 12 formed upright in a guide plate 7 are received in guide pin fitting holes 13 and 14 formed in a guide member 8. Fixed screws 23a and 23b are screw-connected to the guide pins 11 and 12. One guide pin 12 is fitted to the corresponding guide pin fitting hole 14 with a play. Screw holes 20 and 21 are formed through the inner surface of the guide pin fitting hole 14 and the outer surface of the guide member 8. An angle of the guide member 8 with respect to the guide plate 7 is adjusted by allowing front ends of embedded screws 22a and 22b respectively screw-inserted in the screw holes 20 and 21 to respectively engage with a peripheral surface of the guide pin 12.

Automatic wire winding of inside brushless stator
A method and mechanism for automatic or manual winding of a stator. A fixed arbor serves to support the stator during the winding process, as well as a wire feed point and wire guide. A mechanism moves the stator in a back and forth motion along the major axis of the arbor. Proper axial position of the wire is maintained by the outer surface of the arbor and the axial slot itself. The arbor has a channel that serves to guide the wire, allowing it exit in each of the two possible longitudinal directions along the major axis of the arbor.

A wire reel containing portion 3 of a reinforcing bar binding machine 1 is provided with a rotation detecting lever 8 and a photosensor 7. When a wire reel is rotated in starting to bind a wire, rotation thereof is detected by the rotation detecting lever switched ON/OFF by a projected portion formed at a side face of the wire reel, the photosensor detects a reflection mark of the wire reel to determine a kind of the wire from a number of the marks, and a twist torque or the like is controlled. Wire information is detected not in an initializing operation (in setting wire) of rotating the wire reel at low speed but in a binding operation of rotating at high speed and therefore, an amount of swinging the rotation detecting lever is large and wire information can firmly be detected.

A loop-forming tool for forming a loop in a conductor has a grip with a first end section having a central post and an off-axis post mounted therein. The two posts are spaced to allow a conductor to pass therebetween and to grip the conductor when the tool is rotated, bending the conductor around the central post to form a U-shape. Rotating the tool in the opposite direction changes the U-shaped hook to a “?”-shaped hook for attaching to a tie-down bolt. Index marks can be provided on a terminal surface of the first end section to facilitate making consistent loops. The relative sizes of the posts can be configured to allow the tool to also serve to wrap the loop around the tie-down bolt, and to provide a screwdriver for subsequently tightening the tie-down bolt to secure the looped conductor thereto.

Ductile printed media and methods of use therefore
A ductile media for receiving an image thereon is disclosed and comprises a ductile mesh and an elastomeric membrane fixed to at least a top side of the mesh. The ductile mesh is preferably an expanded metal material. The elastomeric membrane has a substantially flat top surface that is adapted to receive the image thereon. A printable coating may be further applied to the top surface of the membrane. In one embodiment of the invention, a selectively removable liner is temporarily fixed with adhesive to a bottom surface of the mesh or to a bottom surface of the elastomeric membrane to prevent printer feeding rollers of a printing device, for example, from deforming or stretching the media as the media advances through the printing process. Alternately the image may be applied to the ductile media through a heat transfer or dye-sublimation process. Once the image is printed on the media, the user may form the media into a desired shape by applying pressure thereto. Additionally, the elastomeric membrane may be impregnated with a water-reactive hardening agent, such that once the media is formed into a desired shape, water may be introduced to the elastomeric membrane to activate the hardening agent and cause the media to become substantially rigid.

The storing chamber is provided with a first detecting means for detecting the amount of rotation of the wire reel and a second detecting means for detecting the number of second to-be detecting portions on the wire reel during the amount of rotation detected by the first detecting means. The binder main body is provided with controlling means for controlling the amount of feeding of the wire or the twisting torque on the wire based on the number of the second to-be-detected portions detected by the second detecting means.

By preventing such interference, novel over-bending capabilities can be achieved to form useful bending of low spring rate wire.
